Event Planning/Community Fundraising

We help companies plan and host open houses, public meetings, and other special events to support academic and/or charitable needs. Through our various Earth Day events, companies have raised money for Habitat for Humanity, Make a Wish Foundation, public and private schools, art, earth science and children's museums, environmental and earth science education, and other charities.

Susan Courter is co-founder of Quarry Quest. Since 1999, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Fox Cities Children’s Museum.

Case Study:

A stone quarry had been in the community for generations, yet local residents were largely unaware of the company's nonmetallic mining operation on the outskirts of town.

To raise awareness about their environmental mining practices, the company offered their quarry near Lomira (WI) as an outdoor learning center for the 2003 Earth Day celebration. Two days worth of exciting, hands-on activities were developed over 9 months by educators, regulatory officials and environmental groups, to teach students about stewardship and the natural environment.

Eight hundred K-8 grade students were the beneficiaries of this work. Besides having fun, students gained a better understanding of mining and their ecological footprint on earth. What's more, the event earned the company the 2003 Business Friend of the Environment Award for their investment in elementary and middle school earth science and environmental education.
