”Our town worked with the Courter Resource Group during the
process of a proposal to site a mining operation in our town. Since
our town (and for that matter our county) had not previously had
a mining operation that include the blasting of the rock, there
were many questions and much apprehension.
Courter Resource Group addressed all the concerns of the residents, landowners and Town Board, arranged for us to view similar operations to get a hands on understanding of such an operation and worked with the Town Board and the residents and landowners to do as much as possible to minimize the effects of such an operation on its neighbors.
During the course of our review they were always very professional in dealing with the concerns of the people of our town.”

Community/Regulatory Relations
Community/Regulatory Relations
Throughout the site selection and permitting process, Courter Resource
Group works to keep correspondence open, permits valid, while communicating up-to-date information on plans and progress.
We take a proactive approach to communications, trouble-shooting and problem-solving with communities and regulatory agencies.
Community Relations
Our public educational and environmental protection campaigns promote environmentally responsible nonmetallic mine operations. We address resident fears of blasting, dust, noise, groundwater, and pollution. See Fact Sheets.
By addressing these issues up-front and honestly, we can help residents understand the project and use proven problem-solving techniques to alleviate any concerns. This unique, proactive combination has led to a 100% permit approval rate for our clients throughout Wisconsin.
Regulatory Relations
Working on our clients’ behalf, we address regulatory agencies on a range of issues. When weather, vandalism or project changes create unforeseen problems, we work with companies and government agencies to identify an appropriate solution. From routine inquiries regarding compliance status or permit.
Case study:
In 2005, aggregates were needed to supply the reconstruction
of US Highway 10, near Stevens Point. A construction aggregates
source was identified in the nearby Town of Dewey (Portage County,
WI).
Nearby residents were concerned about the potential effects of the
project. Courter Resource Group was retained to facilitate a public
discussion. After months of discussion, problem-solving and communications
through direction mail, newsletters, public informational meetings,
kitchen table talks and electronic feedback, the permit was approved.
