Throughout the permitting process, we pay special attention to educating community members and local legislators.  We recognize that public understanding of the mineral industry is low. While the industry has changed, the perceptions of it have not. That can handicap a proposed project. Residents may fear the worst.

Our public educational and environmental protection campaigns promote environmentally responsible nonmetallic mine operations. Telling the Story
To do this, we prepare visual aids that help tell your story.  Using three-dimensional models, cross-sectional diagrams and scientifically-researched fact sheets, we help improve public understanding of these resources and impacts of proposed projects.

Our proven community engagement, permit approval process creates opportunities to draw out concerns early in the process and address them. This is why our clients have 100% permit approval rate for projects on which we have worked.

Case Study:
In 2005, residents in the town of Dewey (Portage County, WI), had concerns regarding a proposed granite quarry. Courter Resource Group facilitated numerous meetings and site visits to increase public understanding of the project. Residents and government officials who were unable to attend the meetings received newsletters. The results: The permit was approved.
